10 things you do not need to know about the Jura

1) The Jura is a place in France where wine is made.
2) These wines are made of grapes that you’ve never heard of, like Savagnin.

3) Vin Jaune is from the Jura. Vin Jaune is basically French Sherry.

4) Some Jura wines come in a bottle size that is not accepted by the TTB, and are therefore not available in the US, but I still have to know about them.

5) I have to know about these wines because they appear on wine exams.

6) I’m not that happy about #5.

7) If you’re in the Jura and reading this, I hate you and your stupid wine and it’s stupid face.

8) I’ve never had any Jura wine, but I haven’t heard anything good about it either.

9) The three main red grapes of the Jura are: Poulsard (Ploussard), Trousseau, and Pinot Noir.

10) The Jura is a place in France where wine is made. Eastern France. Like, by Switzerland.
