Burguny Wednesday

So, my dad has started having Burgundy tasting in the store every Wednesday evening, and last week he left me in charge. I chose a 2009 Manciat Poncet Macon Charnay “Les Chenes” and a 2006 Domaine d’Ardhuy Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru Aux Clous. They were both great. The Macon was lithe and refreshing up front, but had a great amount of richness in the middle, with a finish of coconut and tropical fruit. The Savigny smelled like raspberry cobbler with a hint of raw licorice. In the mouth it was firmly structured, but supple, with more red fruit and baking spice up front, and good acidity, although it was a bit rough and rustic on the finish.
