This is very cool. The more time I dedicate to studying wine, the more I seem to geek out on soil types. It’s amazing how much soil types can change in a relatively small area, and the degree to which those changes can affect the wine from the region. Rioja isn’t an area that trumpets the idea of terroir that often, but this map gives you a clear picture of the different soil types of the region.
